Dedicated to Improving Rural Broadband
Experience to help you control your destiny.
By working together, we Do More. Together.
Cooperative Network Services (CNS) was conceived in 2008 when a handful of cooperative telephone companies in north central Minnesota began working together, and interconnecting their networks...
Today, CNS is owned by 20 cooperative telephone companies serving areas in Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, North Dakota, and South Dakota, and our original network has evolved and expanded into one of the key transport networks in the region. Among the services we currently provide to our members and to the telecommunications industry at large: IP/TDM Transport, Wholesale Internet Bandwidth, as well as Engineering, Consulting, Marketing Management, Video Product Management, Human resources, and Graphic Design services. CNS also aggregates the volume of our members to leverage the combined purchasing power of the group for various outsourced services.
Our ownership consists exclusively of cooperative telecommunications providers, and CNS reflects the cooperative spirit and values of its owners in the services it provides. By working together as a group, CNS provides the benefits and efficiencies of consolidation that much of the rest of our industry has experienced in recent years, while at the same time offering services that no single member could offer alone. This is very much in keeping with the cooperative mission.
Do More. Together.
