3D RouteView – Precision LiDAR Mapping
Centimeter-accurate maps + Powerful AI for rural telecom providers
Hyper-accurate 3D mapping to revolutionize rural telecom
Imagine measuring, automatically classifying all of your network elements, and then engineering your networks without the time-intensive, dangerous process of manual data collection and data entry… all accurate to a few centimeters!
Engineering, Field Staking, and Asset Management will never be the same
3D RouteView revolutionizes Network Asset management and Fiber Optic Network Design projects by leveraging advanced LiDAR, high-accuracy GPS receivers, GIS hardware, AI software, and expertise.
How it works:
- One employee drives the existing or potential routes (at 50 mph)
- One employee can cover 100 miles of network routes per day
- LiDAR sensors create “point cloud” data while high resolution 360-degree imagery is collected by cameras
- AI software then automatically classifies network components, roadways, trees, power lines, grass, signs, pedestals etc, allowing you to easily identify and search for things like pedestals, vaults, poles, etc.
- Plant Engineers and software application users can identify the location of real-world features accurate to within 3 centimeters
- Engineering teams can then complete a highly accurate design in significantly less time than the industry standard
- ISP staff can use viewer software to do automated searches of network assets, vegetation encroachment, and measurements of assets, all from the convenience of the office
- OSP staff can check the status of something or pull a measurement for one project while out in the field working on another project
Why 3D RouteView?
Improved accuracy
-
- Knowing exactly where network assets exist ensure:
- Efficiency
- Saves truck rolls
- Allows larger teams to review same data
- Software automation saves time and money on manual feature delineation
- Minimizes missed opportunities for future build-outs
- Efficiency
- Centimeter accuracy
- Combining GIS, AI, and plant design experts will produce highly accurate and precise designs
- Improve efficiency of OneCall Locate ticket process
- Consistency between staff
- Sharing accurate data with all stakeholders (client, contractors, etc.)
- Knowing exactly where network assets exist ensure:
Time savings
-
- Data can be collected in a fraction of the time of traditional methods
- No wasted trips going to “redo” missed measurements
- Minimize rework/design changes
- Automated practices for large-scale projects will allow limited numbers of highly trained workers to appropriately allocate and spread their time, leading to overall greater project accuracy and consistency
- Streamlined permitting process leveraging highly accurate data for measurements
Flexibility
-
- Design teams can work projects into their schedules as time permits
- Rapid fire drive out of projects before snow cover allows design team to get critical workloads completed during otherwise quiet winter season
- Surge team scheduling
- Verification of plant data design and critical measurements without the need for a field visit
How it’s used
Data collected can be used for precise mapping, measurement, and classification of existing infrastructure/field conditions (natural features, barriers, etc.) to create fiber designs or repair plans.
Collected and processed data can be combined to create a comprehensive dataset for future uses including repairs, locates, designs, upgrades, analysis, and even for sale to other entities needing the data.
3D RouteView LiDAR Mapping ensures superior accuracy, efficiency, and long-term value of plant/network route data.
